Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's the first artist of female gender for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 when she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued to post her music on the internet, as well as her own single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs to the Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to work together on a few references. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna was contracted to Dreamville Records. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album entitled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it was also released on September 5th. Then, in November, she released two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she dropped No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song was followed by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube in its first seven days. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
